COOKIE POLICY
Last Updated: April 25, 2024
This Cookie Policy (“Policy”) explains how Tomofun, LLC (collectively, "Tomofun," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you interact with our websites located at Furbo.com (“Furbo.com” or “Site(s)”), any mobile application (“App”) that hyperlinks to this Policy (such as Furbo), or any other websites, pages, features, or content owned or operated by Tomofun (collectively, the “Services”). It also explains how Tomofun and our partners use cookies in advertising. Please note that we will generally refer to cookies, web beacons, flash cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies collectively as “cookies” in this Policy.
We encourage you to read the full Cookie Policy to understand how we use cookies and your choices. us, Please see our Privacy Policy for more information about how Tomofun processes your personal information.
WHAT IS A COOKIE?
A cookie is a data file, which often includes a unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a website or its provider and is then stored on your device’s hard drive that enables the website’s or provider’s system to recognize your browser and remember certain information held in that cookie.
The length of time a cookie will stay on your browsing device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies will only stay on your device until you stop browsing. Persistent cookies stay on your browsing device until they expire or are deleted.
So-called “first party cookies” are cookies which are served by the entity operating the domain through which the cookie is served. Tomofun’s own cookies are therefore “first-party cookies”. When we allow third parties to serve cookies through our Services, these cookies are called “third-party cookies”.
WHAT OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES MAY BE USED?
We may use other similar technologies from time to time to recognize or track users of our Services. These technologies can include web beacons (also known as tracking pixels, pixel tags, or clear gifs), Java scripts, or HTML 5 local storage.
Web beacons are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when a user has interacted with our Services. For example, conversion pixels are used to track the effectiveness of an ad or email campaign by tracking when users open an e-mail, we sent them. The use of web beacons allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users within our Sites, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Sites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve our online services. In some instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.
Java scripts are code snippets embedded in various parts of websites and applications that facilitate a variety of operations including accelerating the refresh speed of certain functionality or monitoring usage of various online components.
HTML5 local storage allows data from websites to be stored or “cached” within your browser to store and retrieve data in HTML5 pages when the website is revisited.
We, our service providers and third parties we collaborate with, including ad networks, may use cross-device/cross-context tracking. For example, you might use multiple browsers on a single device, or use various devices (such as desktops, smartphones, and tablets), which can result in your having multiple accounts or profiles across these various contexts and devices. Cross-device/cross-context technology may be used to connect these various accounts or profiles and the corresponding data from the different contexts and devices.
HOW WE USE COOKIES
We use first-party and third-party cookies to recognize you as a Tomofun customer, customize our content, for advertising, to measure promotional effectiveness, and to collect information about your computer or other access device to mitigate risk, help prevent fraud, and promote trust and safety.
We may place cookies from third-party service providers who may use information about your visits to other websites to target advertisements for products and services available from Tomofun. We generally do not control the types of information collected and stored by these third-party targeted advertising cookies. You should check the third-party's website for more information on how they use cookies.
The following are some examples of information that we collect and how we may use it:
• Our Sites uses cookies to help keep track of items you put into your shopping cart.
• Our Sites use cookies to prevent fraud, identify and impose security measures, and to authenticate users.
• We may collect and store details of how you use our Services.
• We may collect information such as your language, inferred zip code or area code, unique device identifier, referrer URL, location, and time zone so that we can better understand customer behavior and improve our services.
WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES DO WE USE
We may use the following types of cookies on the Services:
You can find more information about the specific cookies we generally use and the purposes for which we use them here or through the link at the end this Policy. Please note that the cookie list is subject to change.
YOUR PRIVACY OPTIONS
Browser controls. You can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our Sites although your access to some functionality and areas may be restricted. If you want to understand your browser’s cookie default setting, or learn to modify your browser’s cookie settings, please use the “Help,” “Tools” or “Edit” menu in your browser or review the instructions provided by the following browsers:
Opting out of Third-Party Analytics. We may use third-party service providers to monitor and analyze the use of our online, web-based, and mobile-based Services, such as Google Analytics. Google Analytics is an analytics service offered by Google LLC (“Google”) that tracks and reports website traffic. For more information on the privacy practices of Google, please visit the Google Privacy & Terms web page: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. To opt out of Google Analytics or to prevent your data from being collected and used by Google Analytics, please visit: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Do Not Track Signals. Currently, we do not monitor or take any action with respect to Do Not Track signals or other mechanisms, which means that we collect information about your online activity both while you are using the Sites and after you leave our Sites.
Disabling Most Interest Based Advertising.
Website-based Advertising. Many advertising companies that collect information for interest-based advertising are members of the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) or the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), both of which maintain websites where people can opt out of interest-based advertising from their members. To opt out of website interest-based advertising provided by each organization’s respective participating companies, visit the DAA’s opt-out portal available at http://optout.aboutads.info/, or visit the NAI’s opt-out portal available at http://optout.networkadvertising.org/?c=1. Residents of the European Union may opt-out of online behavioral advertising served by the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance’s participating member organizations by visiting https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/. Please note, to disable advertising cookies, some third parties may need to set an opt-out cookie on your device. Sometimes a device’s configuration may prevent such third parties from setting such cookies, for example, if your device is set to block all third party cookies by default. This means that you may need to change your device settings to accept cookies to fully disable advertising cookies.
Mobile App Advertising. When you use our mobile applications, we or our marketing partners may use one or more of several different identifiers for your mobile device, including Apple Identifier For Advertising (IDFA) or Android Advertising ID (AAID), to target and deliver ads to you in our app or other apps. This means that your device identifier may be accessed by third-party ad networks and used to (a) help manage the number and types of ads you see; (b) track the source of installs related to ads seen in other apps; and (c) identify your interests and behavior and target advertising to you based on those interests and behavior.
Apple requires app developers to ask for permission before they can track your activity across apps or websites they do not own in order to target advertising to you, measure your actions due to advertising, or to share your information with data brokers. If you previously gave our mobile app permission to track, you can tell our app to stop tracking your activity. On iOS or IPadOS, go to Settings, tap on our app, then tap to turn off Allow Tracking. You can also reset your IDFA from your mobile device’s settings page, which will prevent continued use of existing behavioral data tied to your previous IDFA.
If you have an Android device, and are running Android 12 or above, you can delete your AAID permanently by opening Settings, navigating to Privacy > Ads, tapping “Delete advertising ID,” then tapping it again on the next page to confirm. This will prevent any app on your phone from accessing it in the future. Please note that if you do so, you will still see advertisements, but they will not be tailored to your inferred interests.
You may also access industry-provided opt-out tools, although they are not tailored to our mobile applications. For instance, to opt-out of data collection by the Digital Advertising Alliance’s participating member companies for interest-based advertising across mobile applications, download the DAA’s App Choices mobile application opt-out offering at https://youradchoices.com/appchoices.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may modify or update this Policy from time to time. Such amendments might become necessary due to the need to keep the Policy up to date, given changes in our business practice or in response to legislative changes, and whether they are international or national changes. Please take a look at the “Last updated” legend at the top of this page to see when this Policy was last revised.
If we change this Policy, we will notify you of the changes by posting them on our Sites. Where changes to this Policy will have a fundamental impact on the nature of the processing or otherwise have a substantial impact on you, we will give you sufficient advance notice by adding a prominent notice on our Site as required by applicable law so that you have the opportunity to exercise your rights.

Our Cookie Policy (the “Policy”) explains how Tomofun, LLC ("Tomofun” or “we” or “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technology when you access or use our website Furbo.com, hardware (such as the Furbo dog camera), any mobile applications that hyperlink to this Policy (such as Furbo), any application programming interfaces (“APIs”) owned or operated by Tomofun or any third-party APIs used by Tomofun, or any other websites, pages, features, or content owned or operated by Tomofun (collectively, the “Services”). Please read this Policy carefully so that you can be informed about our cookie-related privacy practices when accessing or using our Services.
This Cookie Policy is part of and is governed by, the terms and conditions set forth in our Terms and Conditions located at https://furbo.com/us/pages/terms-conditions. You should also familiarize yourself with our Privacy Policy.
Unless we ask for your explicit consent, by accessing or using our Services, you accept the data practices and terms detailed in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please discontinue your access or use of the Services immediately. This Policy does not apply to services offered by other companies or other sites linked from our Services.
If you have any questions regarding our Cookie Policy, please contact us at support@furbo.com.
We may update this Policy at any time. You will be notified if we make any material changes to this Policy when you first visit our Services after the change or via email. In the event we send you an email notice, we will use the email address we have on file. We will update the Last-Modified date at the top of the Policy when we make changes to this Policy.
Online cookies are small data files that we transfer to your device to collect information about your use of our Services to help us understand you better. Cookies can be recognized by the website that downloaded them or other websites that use the same cookies. This helps websites know if your browsing device has visited them before.
Not all the cookies on our Services are supplied by us (the “first-party cookies”) – some of the cookies on our services are provided by third parties (the “third-party cookies”). Third-party cookies are operated by third parties that can recognize your device across the Internet, such as when you visit other websites or mobile apps. Tomofun does not control how third-party cookies are used, and we encourage you to check the websites of any third-party cookie providers for more information about how they use cookie information (see below for more information).
Tomofun collects more than just cookie data! We use other tracking technologies similar to cookies, such as flash cookies, web beacons, or pixels. These technologies also help us understand how you use our Services in the following ways:
We generally refer to cookies, web beacons, flash cookies, and pixels as “cookies” in this Policy.
When you use our Services via a mobile device (e.g., tablet, smartphone etc.), we may access, collect, monitor, and/or remotely store one or more “device identifiers,” such as a unique device identifier (“UDID”). A device identifier is a small data file which uniquely identify your mobile device. A device identifier gives us information about your device’s browsing and use of the Services.
A device identifier may remain persistently on your device, to help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through the Service. Some features of the Service may not function properly if use or availability of device identifiers is impaired or disabled.
Tomofun generally treats data collected by cookies and other tracking technologies as non‑personal information. However, to the extent that cookies collect IP addresses or similar identifiers that are considered personal information by local law, we also treat cookie information with identifiers as personal information. If we combine non-personal information with personal information, then the combined information will be treated as your personal information for as long as it remains combined.
Cookies help us provide you our Services, understand your needs and wants, and so much more! For example, cookies can tell us how long you spent on a page, whether you experienced any technical issues on our Services, or whether certain parts of our Services are used more than others. This information is very valuable to us because it helps us serve you better. Tomofun also uses advertising cookies because they help us with marketing our products and services to you based on your interests and preferences. For example, you may see advertisements about Tomofun when you leave our Services.
We use the cookies described below on our Services:
Categories of Cookies
Some of the cookies we use are necessary to provide our Services to you. For example, these cookies help you access secure parts of our website, flag any technical errors for us, and help us detect, prevent, and mitigate malicious and fraudulent activities on our Services. Without such cookies, some of our Services cannot be provided to you.
Some of the best parts of our Services would not be possible without functional cookies! Functional cookies collect information about how you use our Services, provide you with certain functions on our Services, and they remember your preferences. For example, these cookies allow our Services to remember your country selection or your display name as you navigate through our Services. Basically, functional cookies make you feel right at home when using our Services
Cookies in this category help us understand how well our Services are doing so that we can continue to improve and maintain them. These cookies measure parts of our Services by collecting information about your use and interaction with our Services so that we can continue to improve and expand our Services.
We want to reach out to you about things you find relevant and interesting. Our marketing cookies allow us to be more informed about your interests and preferences by collecting data about your interactions with our marketing activities, such as parts of our website and our emails. The marketing cookies also allow us to measure how effective a marketing campaign is.
These cookies deliver relevant advertisements to you off of our Services. Our advertising partners will collect information about your interaction with their advertisements to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaign and to deliver advertisements that are more relevant to you and your interests.
It depends on the type of cookie. A “session cookie” collects and stores information about your interactions with the Services and is deleted after you close your browser. A “persistent cookie” saves information about you for longer periods of time, such as your registration ID and login password for future logins to the Service. Therefore, the retention period for persistent cookies varies and is dependent on the purpose of the cookie collection. If you are concerned about your cookies, you can delete cookie data as described below.
Depending on the type of cookie you would like to manage, you should take the following steps:
You can enable, disable or delete cookies via your browser settings. To do this, follow the instructions provided by your browser, usually located within the “Help”, “Tools” or “Edit” settings of your browser. Please be aware that if you set disable cookies on your browser, you may not be able to access secure areas of the Services and parts of the Services may also not work properly (e.g., referral links, preferences, etc.).
Many browser manufacturers provide helpful information about cookie management, including, but not limited to:
If you use a different browser than those listed above, please refer to your specific browser’s documentation. You can also find out more information about how to change your browser cookie settings at www.allaboutcookies.org.
Some of the cookies on our Services are placed on your browsing device by a third party. You can manage such cookies through your browser (as described above) or by checking the third party’s website for more information about cookie management and how to “opt-out” of receiving cookies from them.
Tomofun does not control interest-based advertising cookies on its Services. If you would like more information about such cookies or to opt out of having your cookie information used by companies that are part of the Network Advertising Initiative, please visit www.networkadvertising.org/choices.
Some of the third parties that serve analytics and marketing cookies via our Services allow you to opt-out of their processing directly, as further described on their websites below:
If you have any questions or concerns regarding our Cookie Policy, please review our Privacy Policy or Terms and Conditions. If you do not find the answers there, please contact us at support@furbo.com.
We use cookies to improve your experience on our website and to show you relevant advertising. By using our websites you agree to the use of cookies.
